2018 harvest report
2018 was a mostly dry growing season with a very high thermal amplitude, which delivers a wonderful intensity to the fruit. The summer was very warm but sporadic rains helped the vines reach a nice balance between canopy and yield.
There was a significant drop in temperatures during the first weekend of April, when some vineyards in Mendoza had frost. There was negligible frost at The Vines and the cold snap simply started fall a little earlier, accelerating the ripeness and concentration of some grapes.
in some red varietals, alcohol levels are slightly higher than the last few years due to dry warm weather. Grapes harvested in the beginning of the season are generally more fruit forward and grapes harvested later are showing as rich and full-bodied wines.
